Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” Auditions

Seeking strong singers, actors and movers for one of Sondheim’s most beloved classics about an eternal bachelor who can’t commit and his 10 married friends.
Cast: 8 women, 6 men, no ensemble. Ages flexible, all roles open
Audition Dates: Sunday, September 20 (2-5pm) and Monday, September 21 (7-10pm). Callbacks (if needed) will be held on Tuesday, September 22 (7-10pm).
Audition Location: Uwharrie Players’ Clubhouse (594 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC)
Performance Dates: November 13, 14, 20 and 21 @ 7:30pm; November 15 and 22 @ 3pm
Performance Location: Stanly County Agri-Civic Center (26032 Newt Road, Albemarle, NC)
Come prepared with 16-32 bars of a musical theater song that best shows your acting ability and vocal range. An accompanist will be provided. Use of recording tracks and/or singing a cappella is discouraged. The director may ask you to read and/or sing from the script (reference www.uwharrieplayers.org for audition sides). Callbacks will consist of more cold reading and singing from the score.
Please bring an updated theatrical resume and a list of any and all rehearsal conflicts between auditions (Sept 20) and the final performance (Nov 22). Depending on cast availability, rehearsals will generally run Sunday afternoons (2-5pm) and Mon-Thursday evenings (7-10pm).
