“Urban Cowboy” TV series pilot now in production in Austin Texas.
The casting directors for the show at Brock / Allen are looking to cast background actors to play Gilley’s Kitchen Staff, Gilley’s Waitresses, Bartenders, Gilley’s Patrons and Spectators at a rodeo in Mexico for the pilot. The pilot begins filming this week and is casting extras local to Austin Texas with availability through the 1st week of October.
The original, “Urban Cowboy” starred John Travolta and Debra Winger as 2 lovers living in 80s Texas. Scenes were set in the famous Gilley’s bar and included lots of line dancing, mechanized bull riding and cowboy boots. The remake promises to be a modern take on the original and will be including many of the same themes into the story. According to Deadline, The “Urban Cowboy” remake will be adding some Latin flair by including Latin inspired music into the series. The show is set to star Alfonso Herrero, Jim Belushi, Edward James Olmos, Lindsey Gort and Bryona Soloz. Also, True Blood’s Riley Smith has recently joined the cast. Smith will be playing the not so clean, head of security at Gilley’s.

Brock/Allen Casting is currently casting and looking for Paid Background Extras to work on the pilot for Urban Cowboy filming in Austin.
Filming begins September 16th through October 5th, Monday through Friday
Background Extras will be paid $64/8 hours guaranteed, plus overtime if filming goes past 8 hours.
