Student film project ‘Siren Song’ is in production in the Chicago, IL area and now casting Chicagoland actors to fill some speaking roles including the film’s lead.
“Siren Song” is a short film about a young woman, Siren Turner, who has recently been admitted to a mental hospital. Surprising everyone with her cheerful, energetic, and childlike demeanor, Siren slowly gets to know her therapist, and strikes up an unlikely friendship with a security guard. Meanwhile, however, the unsettling truth of Siren’s past slowly ends up coming to light.
Available roles:
Siren Turner – Female -19 -Siren is a very bright, cheerful young woman with a lot of energy, who dresses and acts rather childishly, appearing younger than she is. She is very talkative, easily distracted, and is friendly to everyone, no matter how they might act towards her. She is determined to ignore and distance herself from the reason why she is in the hospital. Looking for an actress around late teens or early twenties. Needs to look young.
Dr. Sophia London – Female – 30+ – Dr. London is Siren’s therapist at Thornewood Mental Hospital. Dr. London takes her job very seriously, and has a very professional demeanor. She is very organized, and is always well put-together. She knows the truth why Siren has been admitted to Thornewood, and tries to get Siren to talk about her past, so that she can help her, but is met with resistance from Siren. Though Dr. London is usually very serious and professional, she slowly warms to Siren, thanks to the girl’s upbeat and friendly attitude. Looking for an actress in her late 20’s or older. Needs to be able to pass as a serious professional.
Redmond Hackermann -Male- 25+- Redmond is the security guard responsible for escorting Siren to her therapy sessions. He is a large, gruff man, who takes his job seriously, with an intimidating appearance. Siren’s energy and constant talking initially annoy him, but he slowly warms up to the girl, and eventually begins acting friendlier towards her. Looking for a large man, late 20’s or above. Preferably with an intimidating appearance.
Auditions will take place from 12-3pm on Saturday, June 25th, 2016, at the DePaul College of Computing and Digital Media (243 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL), in room 708.
