Casting call for sci-fi 3d feature
artHouse3d is in the final stages of a sci-fi 3D feature production with international distribution. We are hiring actors for VO of animated characters. Some of the animated characters are avatars for live human characters, this could mean that we will be interested in using the same actor used for the VO animated character for the live action character that will appear in a potential series developed from the feature which isl also serving as a pilot.
Hiring Terms:
Non-Union. Paid, negotiated, unpaid audition.
Resume, and head shot is provided. Then accepted talent will be invited to audition. Auditions are as described below. Audition phase two, and final recording to picture will take place at artHouse3d audio recording studio located just off 695, Baltimore beltway exit #18B Randallstown. Southwest Baltimore County not far from 95S DC, 70W, or BWI airport / AMTRAK.
In the interest of optimizing everyones time and offer optimum opportunity for direction, and preparation, auditions will be conducted in two phases.
Audition phase 1: Limited sides will be provided along with direction, then talent will submit an audio recording audition. Recordings can be made at home, or office and does not need to be of professional quality. A link will then be provided to easily upload to us a WAV, or AIF file via an internet connection.
Audition phase 2: Accepted submissions will be invited to attend an in person session at the artHouse3d studio where you will meet the director, and perform an in person audition. Auditions can most likely be scheduled at a mutually convenient date/time. You will get further direction, see the animated character, and perform an audition with the motion picture.
Talent Requirements:
We are looking for talented actors who may, or may not have experience with VO for animated characters, but do have acting experience. Much preferred over animated character experience is the ability to portray a believable character.
Characters Needed:
“Simon” Human Society Computer System Avatar: Simon is the generic name for the avatar, and communication interface for the central computer system. Simon is very intelligent, sharp, and intuitive. Looking for interesting, but believable character. Can be male, female, or homogenous. Indistinguishable sexual orientation might be ideal, but not necessary. However, asexual, or non-gay sounding. Age range open, but must sound mature.

“Filos” Grey Alien: Filos is the name used by a grey alien. When speaking to humans, or human avatars it adopts a generic North American English language voice. Filos is very intelligent, sharp, and intuitive. Looking for interesting, but believable character. Can be male, female, or homogenous. Indistinguishable sexual orientation might be ideal, but not necessary. However, asexual, or non-gay sounding. Age range open, but must sound mature.

Argon: Is a robotic character who once was a very attractive, very intelligent, slightly eccentric female scientist. Age range 30-46. She lost her body in a tragic lab accident, but her brain was successfully recovered, and placed within a robot body, and function system. We will look for a voice that comes close to what she might have sounded like when she was speaking from her natural body, then very slightly augment with a digital color.

“Robo” Argon’s Robot Assistant: Is a very smart, intuitive female robot designed by Argon to be her assistant. Age range 26-40. She is a personal worker robot, designed to not only perform work, but provide a caring, and protective personal friendship with her maker. She has a warm honest personality, but can quickly turn aggressive if needed to protect her maker.

However, the feature is also a pilot for a series in which that role will likely require on camera live action as well in the future. So, we will be auditioning with that possibility in mind.
Commander Kelly Briggs: Age 30-45, masculine, very athletic, and very smart, attractive, family man. Kelly is the commander of the very small defense, and security structure for all the human colonies.

Commissioner Lazern: Age 28-38, youthful, mature, very smart, fit, attractive female, black, or mixed race, exotic. Lead commissioner. Very serious for being the youngest of the commissioners. Quick, sharp, takes her lead role seriously.
