Richard Linklater inspired Hockey/Canadiana Series

ATTENTION ACTORS,
Casting Call: multiple roles (male and female) for a proof of concept trailer for TV series in development. This is a great opportunity to be apart of something an exciting project at the ground floor. The trailer will be shot over the course of the last two weekends in November 2016, November 19th and 20th, as well as the 26th and 27th. The roles are unpaid at this stage, but successful collaboration will lead to the pilot. Footage for demo reels will also be provided. This shoot is non-union. It is also important to note that the male actors need to have the ability to skate.
We are preparing to shoot a trailer to aid in the pitching process for the series. A brief synopsis of the project is as follows:
This is a story about a group of friends in their early 20’s who are trying to find purpose and meaning in their lives, stuck in the Canadiana of a small town called Brantford, the home of Wayne Gretzky. In this town, hockey seems to one of the only forms of escape and it’s something that is keeping the bond strong within their friendships. Hockey is the backdrop to the show here, not the focal point of the series. We will watch our characters grow off the ice in a way that is akin to a Richard Linklater story. Think “Boyhood” or “Everybody Wants Some!!” The catalyst for our story is the arrival of an old friend who is devastated to be moving back home after missing out on his chance to play hockey professionally.
