Actors, singers, dancers, and musicians in High School are welcome to register to audition for Fame Jr. at the Carroll Arts Center this summer!
Please note that there is a fee to participate (if cast) as this is a workshop as well. There is no fee to audition.

This classic musical based on the movie is a favorite among performers with opportunities for singers, actors, dancers, and musicians! Set during the last years of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts in the early 1980s, Fame JR. is the bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students who commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor, and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today.

Auditions will be Saturday May 28, starting at 1pm
Call Backs will be Tuesday May 31, 4pm-8pm
Rehearsals begin June 20 (full rehearsal scheudle below)
Performances will be July 22, 23, & 24
Production Details
Actors are not guaranteed a role, there are a limited number of roles available and casting will be decided through the audition process.
This production is open to students entering high school, attending high school, or graduating from high school in 2016.
Auditions will take place May 28. Actors should prepare 16 bars and bring music for our accompanist. There will also be readings from the script and a dance portion that will be taught during the auditions.
A tuition fee of $165 per actor (or $150 for members of the Arts Center) is required for participation in this show. This is only due from actors who are cast, there is no fee to audition.
All cast and crew members are entitled to 2 complementary tickets.
Rehearsal Schedule
The tentative rehearsal schedule is listed below:
June 20, 22, 23, 27, 29, 30, & July 6 & 7 rehearsals will be from 4pm-6:30pm
July 11, 13, & 14 rehearsals will be from 3pm-6:30pm
July 17, 18, 19, 20, & 21 technical rehearsals will be from 3pm-7:30pm
