Diaz de Baile is a Sweet 15 choreography and Chambelan Rental company located in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California. We have provided over 2,500 dance choreographies in the last 5 years. Our services include full choreography of ballroom and latin dances for Sweet 15’s, 16’s, Cotillions and Weddings.
In the last 2 years we have extended our services to include recruitment, training, and rental of Chambelanes, male dancers for Sweet 15 choreographies. We noticed the shortage of willing, reliable, and talented boys in the groups we serviced our first couple of years and decided to do something to service this need.
Audition information
Diaz de Baile is looking for dancers. All dancers will be trained so they can get hired to be Chambelanes.
?Audition Requirements
Auditions are open to dancers ages 14 to 20 years old.
Dancers under 18 years of age must bring parent/guardian to Audition.
All applicants must register online or email by the deadline specified to be guaranteed an Audition slot.
Audition slots are first come first serve.
Walk Ins are welcome, however, they will have to register prior to receiving an Audition Number and wait until all PRE-Registered applicants have auditioned or in case of missing pairs to perform.
Auditions are a two round process. Round 1: Group Audition, Round 2: Solo Audition & Interview.
Please come dressed to dance (no jean, athletic attire is encouraged) and pre-stretched if possible. If you have dance shoes please bring them. If your solo dance routine is on pointe, please bring your pointe shoes (just in case).
Please bring current Photo or State ID
-State Issued ID or Driver’s License for Applicants 18 and older is required.
-Applicants under the age of 18 can submit current photo or School ID. Parent ID will be required for document signature verification.
ROUND ONE: GROUP SOCIAL DANCE ROUTINE ENSEMBLE
Come prepared to dance Waltz, Contemporary/Lyrical Jazz, and Latin Dances: Bachata, Cumbia, Merengue, Salsa, Samba, and Zapateado with or without a partner.
Attire Requirements for Round One
Male dancers must wear a black t-shirt and black pants, athletic or ballroom shoes are required.
Female dancers must wear a black, fitted shirt and knee length skirt with dance shorts underneath. Ballroom dance shoes (Heels) are required.
ROUND TWO: SOLO DANCE AUDITION
Dancers must prepare a 1.5 minute dance routine to perform during their solo dance audition.
Attire Requirements for Round Two: Performance Wear is encouraged but not required
Music must be submitted on USB, phone or iPod. No CD’s will be accepted.
Audition will end with a personal interview briefly covering your personal dance experience.
AUDITION RESULTS AND CALL BACKS WILL BE ANNOUNCED TO ALL APPLICANTS WITHIN ONE WEEK FOLLOWING THE AUDITION DATE.
