Audition Side Below:

A KID (8-10 LOOKING ANY ETHNICITY) IN SWIM TRUNKS AND COVERED HEAD TO TOE IN FLOATATION GEAR; SWIM CAP, LIFE VEST, WATER WINGS, WATER NOODLES, ETC… HE LOOKS MISERABLE.

KID Dialogue
This is ridiculous. My mom puts this getup on me every time I go near the water. Life vest, water wings, swim fins, (displaying the water noodle) this thing; what is this even for? She always says, (In mom voice) “Water safety is very important!” Hello! Then maybe I should learn how to swim at the YMCA! Kids want to swim! They don’t want to just float like a piece of trash in the East river!

You gotta help me. These floatie things don’t breathe; I’m sweating like I’m on trial under here. Because water wings and floatie noodlely-things are no substitute for knowing how to swim. Well, time to go play in the water now.
