Get a part in a Disney movie
The Disney movie will star Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon. “A Wrinkle in Time” is being directed by Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay who worked with Oprah Winfrey on Selma. “A Wrinkle in Time” is based on the popular children’s book by Madeleine L’Engle. “A Wrinkle in Time” is a science fiction fantasy inspired by Madeleine L’Engle’s novel of the same name. “A Wrinkle in Time” follows kids on an amazing adventure as they set off to find out what happened to their scientist father after he goes missing while working on a secret project known as the Tesseract.
The book focuses on a troubled teen girl and her family. 13 year old Meg Murry is seen as a troublesome student who may not exactly be living up to her potential. Meg’s family includes her scientist mother, her missing scientist father, her younger twin brothers and her 5 year old little brother named Charles Wallace Murry. Charles is not your ordinary kid. He is a child genius who Meg suspects may actually have the ability to read her mind. The role of Charles Murry is up for grabs.
Disney casting directors are looking to cast the lead role of Charles Murry and are holding an open casting call in just a few days to find a 5-9 year-old child actor to fill the role. Auditions for this Disney movie have been going on for a few months now and open casting calls have been held in multiple cities as well as online via video auditions.
Disney casting directors are now looking at kids in the Richmond, Virginia area and auditions will be held Sunday, October 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The casting call will be held at WCVE Video Productions located at 23 Sesame Street in Richmond.
Virginia based casting director Erica Arvold will be interviewing child actors and had the following to say… “We are searching for an intelligent, confident and exuberant actor to play the lead role of Charles Wallace, a young boy of mixed race, in this classic story…. Being comfortable in front of a camera while holding a natural conversation is important, but the essence of this character is what grabs me, and that’s what we look forward to seeing.”
