Casting call coming up in Albuquerque New Mexico for a lead role in upcoming Steven Soderbergh series.
Casting director Rene Haynes will be holding open auditions at the end of the month. The movie’s casting director is looking for a Native American boy between the ages of 9 and 12. No previous acting experience is required, however, kids auditioning for the role must be able to ride a horse. Please note that this is the only role they will be auditions for at this call. Auditions for kids will be held in Albuquerque on the 30th and in Santa Fe on the 1st of next month.
Steven Soderbergh is working on a new television series for Netflix. Soderbergh is teaming up with screenwriter Scott Frank (“Out of Sight”) on “Godless” which is currently in pre-production. This is one of quite a few TV projects for Soderbergh. He’s also behind Starz’s “The Girlfriend Experience,” “The Knick” on Cinemax, and Amazon’s “Red Oaks.” Steven Soderbergh is executive producing “Godless,” along with Casey Silver. Scott Frank is directing as well as writing for the show.
The upcoming show is described as a period piece, a Western set in the 1880s. But not much else is known about the project. Indiewire reports that the show is being released as a limited series and is not expected to go past season 1. No word yet as to exactly when the show will begin production but it is scheduled to film around the Santa Fe, New Mexico area.
