Open Auditions in Virginia for Shakespearean Character Mystery “Great Stage of Fools”

Open Theatre Auditions for “Great Stage of Fools” With Sterling Playmakers

Location: Sterling, VA

Type: Theater

In a world where Shakespearean characters are being picked off one by one, Marc Antony holds a secret meeting in hopes of discovering who has been writing them off. But the characters get more than they bargained for as the murderer suddenly strikes their secret gathering. They are forced to race against the clock (and their growing suspicions of one another) to save not only themselves, but… well, mostly themselves. Will they solve the mystery and live another day, or will they discover that for some, murder is never out of character?

Inspired by the classic works of William Shakespeare, Great Stage of Fools calls forth many of his most notable characters in an unforgettable lampoon of the murder mystery genre. The cast, featuring infamous characters such as Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Marc Antony (Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra) and Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), casts an irreverent look at the stories we place on pedestals, and how those stories can change when adapted for the modern audience.
