Actors wanted for Pirates and Saints at Eclectic Theater in Seattle. Production begins on July 18th and ends on September 17th. Written by Margaret Landry and John Ruoff. Preview is August 25 and opening is August 26. Run is Thu-Sat at 8pm through September 17 and 2pm Sunday matinees are August 27 -September 11, 2016.
An Irish sea Captain and his adopted son, a fierce and fiery madam, a gypsy ghost and her idealistic niece all converge at the boathouse of Tennie, the one-armed Cajun, for one thing: rum. But, when the Captain’s nefarious and half-cocked antics cause the delay of the cargo shipment, the clientele get much more than they bargained for. Set against the ominous backdrop of the Bayou Goula, during the height of the Prohibition era, the characters find that secrets are their greatest currency, the loot has an arbitrary price that ebbs and flows between life and death and in the end, “all of us are pirates and saints.”
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
- Esmerelda: Female, mid-forties, Gypsy ghost. Babe’s Aunt. Please prepare a one minute choreographed dance for audition.
- Babe: Female, mid twenties, feral, youthful vigor.
- Siobhan O’Hurley:Female, mid-fifties.Irish-born madam. Irish dialect.
- Captain Fordel Dooley: Male, mid to late fifties. Irish-born sea Captain. Irish dialect.
- Antrim Dooley: Male, mid-twenties. Irish dialect.
- Tennie Reinhardt: Male, forties, Cajun. Missing a hand. Actor should be able to move in fight and dance.
Auditions to be held on June 25. from 11am-3pm and will be by appointment only. Auditions will include cold readings from script.
