Blue Palm Productions is pleased to announce auditions for our fall production of The Moonshiner’s Wife Thursday, August 18th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. To audition, come prepared with a one-minute comedic monologue to be delivered in a Hillbilly accent and a one-minute song which highlights your vocal abilities. Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to perform basic dance moves.
The Moonshiner’s Wife is a musical comedy which tells the story of Ruth Hatcher, a troubled woman. Her family, although farmers by day, are moonshiners at night, a secret which keeps her constantly worried about her family’s safety and the state of their souls. Despite her pleading, her husband, Judd, stubbornly refuses to renounce his moonshining way of life. But one fateful day, Ruth concocts a plan that she hopes will change everything, bringing on some unintended consequences. And one surprise she never saw coming.
We are seeking males and females for lead roles and ensemble roles.
Rehearsals will be Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Performances will be November 4th and 5th at 7:00 p.m., and November 6th at 3:00 p.m.at The Sautee Nacoochee Center, located only 4 ½ miles from Helen, Georgia.
