Oskar was the Bookkeeper in Auschwitz in the holocaust. He recorded the items and money that was bought into camp by the Jews. Although he was an SS guard, he filed for transfer and did not agree with what was going on. Now an elderly man with a slight German accent, he is reserved and quiet and has never mentioned his duties in the war but when he comes face to face with Lemel, a Jewish holocaust survivor he conveys an emotional outburst and begs for forgiveness. A powerful and dialogue heavy role which will need to be played by a passionate actor.
