This is the lead role in a film that was originally designed for one of Beyonce’s lead dancers. There is a lot of dance in the film. BUT the story is not a dance film at such, you know, with the contest in the end, etc. This is a film about a dancer. The role calls for an Afro-American female, leading lady type, who can play a seasoned dancer and dance teacher, and who is also a fine actress. Age 25 to 32. This is a non-union role.
