SYNOPSIS
Rick (AKA Mr. Mysterio) is the star of a late-night, public access, TV Show in which he speaks to ghosts and exorcises demons for his clients. Although Rick does not believe in the supernatural, and views himself as a charismatic con-man, he begins questioning these beliefs when a woman brings him a mysterious statue, which she claims is destroying her life.
CHARACTER BIOS
[DUNCAN] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 25-35]
Duncan is Rick’s camera operator. He believes in Rick’s fake supernatural abilities, and wants nothing more than to earn Rick’s respect and friendship. He’s a lonely man, and a proud nerd.
[KAYLA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 25-35]
Kayla is mourning the death of her father, and has inherited a strange statue from him. She believes the statue killed her father and is dismantling her entire life. After seeing one of Mr. Mysterio’s commercials, she decides that he might be her only hope.
[BEATRICE] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 35-45]
Beatrice is a powerful sorcerer following the orders of an ancient being. It is her job to make sure that true evil never enters this world. The simple solution to her current problem would be to kill Rick, but she can’t bring herself to so easily murder an innocent man.
[NERGAL] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 30-50]
Nergal is a malevolent, ancient being imprisoned by Beatrice and her people inside of Kayla’s statue. He has begun working on his plans for escape, and is hoping to reconnect with his estranged son while he takes over the world.
[ALYSSA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 20-30]
Alyssa is Rick’s upstairs neighbor. She doesn’t like him at all and is tired of his constant whining. She just wants to enjoy the football game, and she’s pretty sure Rick is into witchcraft and BDSM.
[TERESA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 50-60]
Teresa is Rick’s mother, and believes that Rick’s “abilities” helped to resolve her mental health issues. She wants her son to be happy and accept himself.
[MARTHA] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 50-60]
Martha visits Mr. Mysterio to contact her dead husband. She desperately misses Steve and wants nothing more than to see him again.
[CHRISSY] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 20-30]
Chrissy visits Mr. Mysterio because she thinks her heavy-metal ex-boyfriend is a Satanist that has cursed her. She is experiencing terrifying visions and believes a demonic entity is assaulting her at night.
