Cast Call for Extras on New Robert Rodriguez Film in Austin

Casting call in Austin for paid extras to work on Robert Rodriguez’s new film project.

While the name of the project is withheld, rumor has it that this is the highly anticipated “Alita Battle Angel” that is being directed by Robert Rodriguez with a screenplay written by James Cameron. Previous casting calls for the film were seeking “Adults of all ages and races needed to portray people of multiple cultures in a futuristic society” which also points to the project being “Alita.”  The sci-fi cyborg flick AKA Battle Angel Alita, is a well known manga series in Japan. The name literally means “gun dream”… or so I read, and was created by Yukito Kishiro.

According to IMDB, Robert Rodriguez only has one film that is now in production and it is “Alita Battle Angel.” IMDB’s description reads as follows… In the twenty-sixth century, a female cyborg is rescued from the scrap heap by a scientist.

Originally, the project belonged to James Cameron and he had worked on it for quite a few years until deciding to hand it over to someone else. Robert Rodriguez took the project over but Cameron is still very active and has stayed on board serving as the writer and producer. Rosa Salazar stars as the main character, Alita. Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein and Christoph Waltz are also named as being part of the cast. A longer movie synopsis is also listed. According to Variety, 20th Century Fox is behind the film and James Cameron will also be producing alongside Jon Landau. The film will hit theaters sometime in 2018.

While the rush call below is for scenes filming this week, production will be ongoing into the winter months.  The movie began filming this month in Austin Texas and is scheduled to be in production in the area through February of 2017 and will be needing Austin area talent to fill many, small, non-speaking roles throughout production. We are seeking PUNK ROCKER types to be extras in the Robert Rodriguez film.

Must have a sense of Punk style and fashion sense and if you have a MOHAWK or similar style of edgy hair that would be great!

We are seeking NEW faces OR people who have only worked on the show once with an edgy, skater, hip type look that have not already applied.

We would love to see submissions from people who like to skateboard and hang out at skate parks or people who frequent indie band concerts.
