Newly founded NYC production company seeking actors for a high-caliber short film with potential entry for competitive film festivals. Our producers, writer, cinematographer and director have experience working in the industry’s most prestigious agencies and studios.
DEME is an urban re-telling of Persephone’s abduction.
We are looking to cast the following roles:
[KORY] 18 to play mid teens; African-American, or Latinx. Whimsical and still too innocent to be afraid. She moves through the world both fluid and sure. She could be a dancer.
[GIRL] early 20s; African-American, or Latinx. A little out of place and out of time, she’s somewhere between Cassie Ainsworth and Beloved. Aloof. Lithe. Weary.
[MOMMA] 40s to 50s; African-American, or Latinx. Strong, tired working woman. She is our modern-day Demeter.
[GIRLFRIENDS] 18 to play mid teens; Any ethnicity. Cool, trendy, close-knit, young queens.

Outside Shoot Dates: Weekends October 13-28, 2018
Production Location: Brooklyn/Queens
Non-Union: Unpaid gig. Possible travel & meal compensation.
