CASTING FEMALE ACTRESS FOR TOURING PRODUCTION–
Mad River Theater Works of Zanesfield, Ohio is looking forward to a busy 2018-2019 season where we’ll be celebrating the company’s 40th year. While the times have changed, the work and mission of Mad River has stayed much the same: to present live performances and educational outreach programs to both adults and children alike, telling stories about people from the back roads and small towns of America. Through quality drama, live music and singing, Mad River’s original one-act plays explore American history with a tone of hope and kindness, and a critical eye towards equality and justice for all.
The company is seeking a Caucasian female (18-35) who will play a supporting role in our winter tour of “Freedom Bound”. Freedom Bound revolves around the most famous incident in the history of the Underground Railroad in Ohio-the story of Addison White, an escaped slave and his rescue by the citizens of Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
THE CONTRACT IS A 9-WEEK COMMITMENT AND IS NON-UNION.
Rehearsals will be the first two weeks of January in Zanesfield, OH at the Mad River Theater Works studios, after which the company will be on the road for weeks touring a 20+ state route of performing arts centers and university theaters. The actress will be paid a weekly wage with a per diem and be provided with their own hotel room every night on the road. The company will travel in a passenger van along with a tour manager, carrying the backline and set. Additional responsibilities include help with set-up/striking of the set and any outreach or residency activities that may present itself.
