Some Place Safe – Short Film

Some Place Safe is a college senior capstone project by Forrest DePoy (www.fdepoy.com) that is set to be filmed in late September. Total cast of three LOCAL actors across two locations in Indianapolis, Indiana for a total of two to three evenings. This project pays $25/day.
Synopsis: A young swordswoman in training leaves her abusive boyfriend for an older woman she meets online, but soon discovers that she is actually a demonic bodysnatcher.

Roles:
Viva (20’s Female, Any Ethnicity) – Viva is a woman (twenties, lower middle class) with a love for kung-fu movies that has been struggling with an abusive relationship for a while, and has taken up sword training as a result of that. Recently she’s fallen in love with a mysterious older woman that promises a way out for her. Slowly through the film, Viva learns to evolve from prey into predator.
Sven (30’s-40’s Female, Any Ethnicity) – An older, mysterious woman that Viva falls in love with online. In person, Sven shares little about herself, can drink almost anyone under the table, and knows all the rights ways to charm Viva. In actuality, Sven is a demonic bodysnatcher intent on stealing Viva’s.
Abusive Boyfriend (20’s-30’s Male, Any Ethnicity) – Viva’s abusive boyfriend is a reckless, manipulative individual that only shows up twice within the film.
