Synopsis
While on holiday in Florence with her older cousin, Lucy Honeychurch has an encounter with a young man that changes the course of her life. Falling under the positive & negative influences of a colourful group of people – Lucy must choose between Duty & Convention or Love & Desire.
Biography of Director
After studies in performance and production at Theatre Nepean Mark lived and worked overseas where he undertook theatre projects in London, Edinburgh, Barcelona and Mexico City. Returning to Sydney he divides his time between the Genesians and New Theatre. Mark completed studies in directing via NIDA OPEN in 2012 and 2017. For GTC he has assistant directed on Amadeus (2014), Much Ado About Nothing (2017) and directed Simpson, J. 202 (2015).
At New Theatre Mark was assistant director for Dinkum Assorted (2015), After The Dance (2017) and The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2018) while directing Young Pretender (2016) for Sydney Fringe Festival and F*cking Men (2018) for The Mardi Gras Festival.

Mr Eager 50s-60s – The English Chaplain in Florence
Freddy Honeychurch 18-19 – Lucy’s brother
*Walk-on roles (to be potentially played by the cast) : Italians, guests, villagers.
Audition requirements: Selected adapted monologues from the script (available from the director) to be presented. Call back scenes to be arranged. Auditions/Callback: Thurs 8 – Sun 11th November.
Rehearsal period: In the CBD and Marrickville – Sat 18 November 2018 until 31 January 2019.
Preview Fri 1st February 2019. Performances are Fri and Sat eves 7:30 & Sunday matinees 4:30pm.
Please note that rehearsals will occur on Thursday evenings, all day Saturday, and Suns 10 – 2pm. The times are negotiable, however the days are not. Some day rehearsal (pending availability) can occur Thursdays & Fridays. Possible other times Mon-Weds 10am-2pm. All cast needed Jan 17-31.
* Xmas/New Year period negotiable.
Australia Day long weekend unfortunately not negotiable.
The Genesian is a voluntary organisation and therefore no payment is offered. There is no cost to cast and crew when undertaking a role at the theatre.
