Casting Notice “Lost in Translation” Scene 76
“Lost in Translation” is a feature romantic-comedy/drama about a faded movie star and a neglected young woman form an unlikely bond after crossing paths in Tokyo. This is a student project for acting and directing that will recreate a certain scene in the film.
Auditions will be held on Friday, August 3rd in North Park by appointment only (details provided upon request).
Characters:
BOB HARRIS – Mid 40s male. He is melancholic, with an active and dry sense of humor. He’s extremely jaded and embraces his cynicism as a form of emotional protection. His self-loathing is indistinguishable from self-acceptance, making it difficult to tell whether Bob has accepted his place in the world or merely become resigned to it.
CHARLOTTE YOUNG – Mid to late 20s. She is intelligent, curious, and gifted with a dry sense of humor. Charlotte seems to have everything in the world going for her. Still, she’s crippled with uncertainty and is terrified that she will make a wrong choice and waste her life. While her continuous alienation has dulled her fun-loving side, she is still capable of occasional bouts of wild spontaneity.
