Singing telegrams are typically 10- to 15-minute performances consisting of a loosely scripted comedy act/skit and two or three songs. This is a really fun gig! You get to deliver joy and be well compensated for your time and talent.

Performers must have strong singing, acting, and improvisational comedy skills.

You must be able to improvise and play off the crowd and recipient.
Popular characters include:
Marilyn Monroe, Nurse, Cop, Elvis, Austin Powers, Gorilla in a Tutu, Phantom of the Opera, Nerd, and many more.

You can also develop your own characters.

Pay per booking ranges from $80-$140, depending on character, tips, and travel time.

Versatility is key! You must be able to play a variety of different characters:

For women: nurse, nerd, french maid, Marilyn Monroe, princess, cop, gorilla in a tutu, etc.

For men: cop, phantom of the opera, gorilla in a tutu, cowboy, Elvis, Austin Powers, etc.

You don’t have to do all of these, but the more characters you can play, the better!

You must have strong improv comedy, singing and acting skills. You must be fearless and ready to command attention from a crowd in a variety of settings. You must be able to belt out a song and fill a room full of 50 people a cappella without a mic.
