  1. Robert Rios

    Good morning,

My name is Robert Rios and I have a story to tell. In 2010 I was told I only had 2 weeks to live. My doctor told me to go home and tell my family, he said if I didn’t have a Will then I need to make one. No one would listen so as I sat down at my computer and I thought of all the questions I wanted to ask but never asked of my mom and grandfather before they died.

So I started to write about my life, something I could leave for my kids so they would never have those unanswered questions. I thought about my life growing up severely abused and even tortured to the point of death several times. You see I was broken and I would always be broken until I died.

There has always been questions asked…why am I the way I am, I wanted to finally answer that question leaving no rock upturned. It was difficult but I needed to be honest, the only title I could think of for this book was Broken! I was always so worried that I would become like my abuser, but I never did.

Strange as it sounds I lost myself emotional as a teenager and only now after writing this book have I once again found myself…it has taken a life time but I’m back and I like who I am. If you think my story might fit into your programming I will send you a PDF copy of my book, “Broken, Memoir. My story is a positive one, showing that even growing up abused a person can chose not to be an abuser!
