CASTING CALL AUSTIN
Looking for actors to star in a full-length Southern Gothic Drama to premiere at The Playroom Theater in July 2019. There are 6 available roles we are looking to fill.
MALE CHARACTERS
• JACKSON: Austin’s older brother; Black; personable; outgoing.
• JOBAB: Austin’s father; Black; deluded; sadistic; machismo.
**Should appear older**
• BLAKE: Jobab’s brother; Black; Kind; musician; voice of reason.
**Should appear older**
• BRENTON: Austin’s fiancé; compassionate; an attorney.
**All ethnicities encouraged to audition**
FEMALE CHARACTERS
• CHARLOTTE: Austin’s older sister; Black; snarky; assertive; rude.
• OLD WOMAN: An Old Woman; Black; mysterious
No “professional” experience is required. Potential participants should know that this is a non-paid gig, although it is great exposure for future endeavors. The show will run from Monday July 22nd through Sunday July 28th. Auditions will be held on Saturday January 12th 2019 at 1501 Broadway #701, New York, NY 10036 (Dramatists Guild Of America) from 12PM – 2PM. Come prepared with an act that relates to the description of the character you intend to audition for. You will also be asked to read sides.
