Maggie Hammel and Sarah Deller welcome submissions from actors / devisers who are interested in the lives and works of the Bronte? sisters.

Hammel and Deller are creating a devised piece of theatre exploring the biographies of Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Bronte?. This piece will combine physical / devised theatre and naturalism, and will expose and overturn myths about the Bronte? sisters. Hammel and Deller seek to cast someone to explore and play the role of Anne Bronte?, the author of Agnes Grey and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

For the audition, applicants must prepare:
– one poem by Anne Bronte?

Applicants should be prepared to devise / improvise during their audition, either independently or with one of the co-creators.

An interest in the lives / works of the Bronte? sisters is required. Experience with physical or devised theatre is an asset. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable with independent research.

The bulk of the devising, which will culminate in a workshop production, is planned for June 2019. However, should the ideal collaborator be unavailable during this time, these dates are flexible.

Equity and non-equity members are invited to submit. Grant approval is pending. The workshop payment will be profit share / honorarium.
