A hilarious and moving musical adventure about one sex-positive woman’s journey to learn who she is, what she likes, and how to stop faking it.

NOTICE: Audition, AEA and Non-AEA – WORKSHOP CONTRACT

$500; meals provided, though we may not be able to meet all dietary needs.

SEEKING:

Looking for powerful vocal performers with badass rockstar attitude and appeal! All of the songs will be in a rock/pop musical theatre style. Some understanding of music theory, ability to read charts, and being able to adapt quickly as the songs shift during the workshop process is a huge plus. See breakdown below.

PREPARATION:

90 seconds of a fast tempo song

90 seconds of a ballad

Sheet music for the accompanist in your key.

One contemporary monologue and sides from the play, which will be mailed to you.

Note: We may ask actors to make musical changes during the call-back, i.e: singing your song(s) in a different key or changing the song style.

WORKSHOP DATES:

Workshop is Jan. 3-10 with a Staged Concert performance January 10, 11, 12. Exact dates and times TBD.

Several days in Oakland. Performance most likely in Oakland. Exact location TBD

OTHER DATES:

This casting is for the January workshop with a possibility for participating in a Fall production TBD.

 

CAST BREAKDOWN – All ethnicities are encouraged to apply.

MARK
Attractive late twenties male with a “sweet guy” look. A bit of a stoner, but well put together and desirable. Deeply committed to the idea that he is a really good guy. A voice that makes you swoon. Baritone/Tenor

SANDRA

Late twenties artsy bi woman. Unashamed of her sexuality and open-minded, Sandra is into art, spirituality and anything that allows her to be expressive and connect with other people. Soprano/Mezzo

STEVE
Mid-thirties sweet guy who’s done a lot of work to deconstruct his internalized patriarchy. He’s impressed by the women in his life and wants very much to do the right thing at all times. Bass/Baritone/Tenor
