Freelance writer/performer gig for marketing event.

Location: Cleveland, OH

Type: General Performers

Are you someone who can connect with people instantly? A quick study of the human condition? Can you adeptly use your creative writing skills on the spot to tell a unique story? Does the idea of sitting at a typewriter and putting a smile on people’s faces get you excited? This opportunity may be just for you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

We are looking for an experienced writer with a performative streak to attend the Content World Marketing World Conference and Expo and represent our brand on the floor to garner buzz.

The writer will be on the floor of the expo at a desk with a typewriter, writing on-demand postcards for attendees. If you’ve ever heard of the ‘street poetry’ phenomenon of on-demand poetry, we’re doing something similar!

Think of it as a collaboration between a writer and a customer in real time. It’s all about being able to make a genuine connection in a short period of time. We’ll work together to create templates for the tone and format of the writing, but you’ll get to customize the rest!

Who We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creative writing, with experience in writing across a variety of genres. Versatility and the ability to think on the spot are must-haves, as well as being comfortable in (and even having a desire for) the spotlight! An ability to improve while following guidelines is essential, as well as having outstanding intrapersonal skills.

Requirements:

Available 9 AM to 5 PM on September 4th and 5th (a total of two days).
Located in or nearby Cleveland, Ohio.
Professional experience as a writer or in similar creative industries.
Please submit a resume and either a proposal for something you would write for this job or a writing sample of previous work.

Payment: Paid
