Oracle Performing Arts seeks 2 emcees and 3 actors. Stipend offered. Diversity extremely important: all ethnicities, genders, body types, religions, etc. encouraged to apply.
The Production:
Theatre on the Move is a two-day theatrical installation at Liberty Station in Point Loma. Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20, with a possible 1-week extension.
Theatre on the Move employs Oracle Performing Arts’ mobile pop up theatre venue to surprise passersby with a variety of 5-minute plays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are currently casting actors for three of the plays, and emcees to interact with the audience and introduce the performers.
Auditions:
Date: Monday August 19, 6:00-8:00, by appointment
Location: National City office (directions will be provided)
Auditions will be readings from the script. Sides will be provided, and can be requested ahead of time
Rehearsals:
Once a week in September 2019 to be scheduled with actors; Evenings and weekends October 1 thru October 18. Mondays off, longer rehearsals in week leading up to opening.

Plays and Characters:
Play 1 – A woman, 20-55, flags down a car for urgent help with a surprising situation. A comedy.
Play 2 – An older African American, any gender, working a lower status job speaks about the future. A thoughtful drama by a well-known playwright.
Play 3 – A woman and man, 25-45, meet in a bar and address all the hopes and hopelessness of dating at once. A comedy.
MC – Casting two people as emcees to welcome the audience, introduce the performers, and facilitate transitions between performance pieces. Seeking high energy, friendly, individuals, who can interact with the audience without a script. Role could include answering to behind the scenes questions, leading brief theater games, or other entertainments, depending on the emcee’s strengths.
