The Boy I Paid For
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Casting for 2x MALE ACTORS, aged 19 – 30 for the roles of “Beau” and “Keith”.
Writers’ Block Theatre presents “The Boy I Paid For”, for Midsumma Festival, 2020.
A minimalist comedy-drama, “The Boy I Paid For” looks at the ramifications of our obsession with youth and beauty in the queer community.
Socially awkward Keith hires beautiful escort Beau for an evening of companionship one Christmas Eve. Keith has no idea what to expect and Beau is treating this like just another job. But as the night goes on, both men realise they have to confront their own truths… and need one another to do it.
Please be aware that this play features a number of intimate scenes that involve touching and kissing another male. Whilst nudity is written into the script, it is not a requirement from the actor. Writers’ Block Theatre values integrity, and makes your comfort and safety our priority.
“The Boy I Paid For” is ideal for actors who wish to challenge themselves and develop their skills on a number of levels.
