Open Auditions / Casting Call for Stranger Things in ATL

Get a role on Stranger Things season 4.

The show is gearing up for season 4 and is in need of Atlanta area locals that would like to work on set as extras. That’s right, it’s 2020 and the Netflix hit is in production of the new season that will premier on Netflix later this year.

Stranger Things has a casting call out for extras.

The supernatural themed Netflix show “Stranger Things“ is going into production for yet another season of the very popular TV series and if you live in or around the Atlanta area, you may have a shot at getting cast as a background actor / extra on Stranger Things.

Casting directors for the show are holding a general casting call for extras. They are looking for adults, kids and folks that have vintage cars in the Atlanta area.

Stranger Things seems to be the most popular show on Netflix these days and the viewership for the last season is reported to have broken records. Forbes reports that Stranger Things season 3 had been watched by over 40 million households in the few days around the season premiere in July of last year. Apparently, Netflix says that’s the most anything on the service has ever been watched in that period of time. They also go on to say that over 18 million households had actually binged watched that show during that same time period.

The show focuses on a group of teens who seem to stumble across some pretty strange things back in the 80’s, the time period that the series is set in. See the show’s description below.

It’s the fall of 1984, about a year after Will Byers was found, and he has been plagued by seeing visions of the Upside Down featuring a more dangerous monster. That leads the boy to see a suspiciously friendly new doctor, with the possibility that Will’s visions are the result of suffering from PTSD. Nancy deals with survivor’s remorse over the death of best friend Barb. Meanwhile, a new sinister entity threatens the Hawkins residents who survived the year-earlier events. New to the town is tomboy Max, who befriends the boys and attracts the romantic interests of Dustin and Lucas.

Stranger Things was created, written, directed and co-executive produced by The Duffer Brothers. The previous seasons has been executive produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen. The Duffer Brothers are the creators of the TV series and are said to have created Stranger Things as a show where an investigative drama met with the supernatural.

Please note that the show does film in the Atlanta area and you must be local to Atlanta in order to be considered for any of the extra roles.

New Show Katy Keene Casting Extras in NYC

Katy Keene, a new show coming to the CW network, is now in production in the New York City area and there is a extras casting notice out for area locals.

The upcoming show will premiere in February of 2020 and is described as a musical drama / comedy that is a spin-off of the Riverdale TV series. Katy Keene is based on characters from Archie Comics and was developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi.

Katy Keene focuses on 4 women who are working towards their dream jobs and are hoping to become famous someday. The show is set 5 years after Riverdale. Katy Keene is being produced by Berlanti Productions along with the original character creators, Archie Comics. WB Television and CBS Television Studios are also involved in the show’s production.

The starring role of Katy Keene is being played by actress Lucy Hale. Hale plays an up and coming fashion designer who struggling to get her career on path in The Big Appls, New York City. Ashleigh Murray who was in Riverdale is also in the show and will be coming back in her old role of Josie McCoy. The show was announced some months back in May of this year and will be premiering for the 2019 / 2020 TV season.

About the show:

Katy designs clothes for anyone she can, including her friend and roommate Josie, whose singing talent catches the attention of Alexander Cabot, a CEO who hopes to reboot the record label division of his father’s corporate empire. But Alexander’s dream of signing Josie to a recording contract meets resistance from Cabot Media’s powerful senior vice president Alexandra, who also happens to be his twin sister. Josie and Katy’s roommate, Jorge, works at his family’s bodega and has his eye on Broadway, but after a series of rejections, he hopes to take his drag performance career as Ginger to the next level. The mysterious Pepper Smith plans to open her own version of Andy Warhol’s Factory. She has the connections, but no one seems to know where she got her money or if she really has any at all. As these aspiring artists take on the runway, the recording studio, Broadway and the New York social scene, they find more than just a career in the big city — they find long-lasting friendship.

Don’t Choke follows Milton and Alice, a middle age couple in the midst of their divorce who agree to play a match of tennis for the custody of their daughter and end their marriage once and for all.

In this surreal and bizarre situation, the secrets and conflicts of a marriage are fleshed out in front of an audience. The film tackles parenthood, resentment and the absurdity of divorce as a public show.

The film requires the actors to play tennis to a decent level and to have availability for rehearsals before shooting.
