I am a playwright and director looking for actors and actresses ages 18-80 to play the roles in a new online staged reading adaptation play WHITE MAMA.
The play is set in 1982 in New York City about a poor white widow named Estelle Malone living in an apartment becomes a foster mother to a troubled African American teen B.T. Williamson. When Estelle gets an eviction notice from her apartment, B.T. enters a brutal boxing match to fight for the money that Estelle needs. The two of them may have nothing in common but in the end, a special kind of friendship has grown in between them. Throughout the relationship, she teaches him how to read and get back on the right path while he teaches her the hard life on the streets.
I will be accepting nationwide video auditions from June 5-12, 2020.
Callbacks and Interviews will take place on Skype.
Rehearsals and Live Stage Reading will take place via Zoom.
Full recorded live staged reading performance will premiere on Youtube.
Actors will be paid $25.
The video must be clear and concise. No blurry or shaky videos. Make sure there is no background noise so I can be able to hear from you.
