AUDITIONS for a SHORT STUDENT FILM

Logline: A young college student discovers pictures of them self online depicting different versions of their life, horrified, they go on a journey that explores their self identity.

Themes explored in the film: Self-identity, suspicion, coming of age

We are ARTC/CNST 436, a class of UT student filmmakers, making a collaborative film this semester. We are looking for you to help us realize our short film onto the screen.

Open Call Auditions will be held SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16th from 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm on UT Campus (Arts + Architecture Bldg. Room #111). Please prepare a 1-minute monologue, slam poetry performance, standup routine, or extemporaneous speech. There will be a structured improvisation portion during the audition as well. We would appreciate a headshot/snapshot and resume, if you have one.

This is a student film for which you will receive on screen credit, footage, and meals on full days of production. Principal photography will span dates from February 24th – March 22nd. Possible production dates could include weekends, possible Monday nights, Tuesday & Thursday mornings. Production dates are contingent upon cast availability.

*We seek to find the best performer for each role and currently are not attaching specific gender identification in the character breakdown.

SAM HARMON, protagonist, early 20s; burnt out on life; on rocky ground with current friend group; obsessive; determined to get to the bottom of the website mystery; slightly jaded

ALEX THOMPSON, early 20s; Sam’s roommate and “best friend”; not very open minded; dominates the conversation

HALEY BRAND, early 20s; leader of the improv group; friendly; witty; bright; patient; understanding

PROFESSOR GILL, late 40s, Sam’s professor who misses Sam on the roll call; nurturing on one hand but has a tendency to be cryptic when asked probing questions pertaining to life’s mysteries
