CHARACTERS WE ARE CASTING:
LEAD MALE: Arthur (African American, plays the role of a 50 year old)
Personality is firm and he is not to be played with.
LEAD FEMALE: Vivian (African American, plays the role of a 50 year old)
Personality is motherly and understanding. She tries to keep the peace in the family.
LEAD MALE: Eugene (African American plays the role of a 25 year old)
Personality is very outgoing and optimistic. Law school graduate. Must be able to mimic several characters.
LEAD FEMALE: Brenda (African American, plays the role of a 19 year old)
Personality is The New Generation … She wants her parent to understand , things has changed!”
SUPPORTING MALE: Uncle Pete (African American, plays the role of a 68 year old)
Personality is very sarcastic and outspoken. Can be rude and impatient. He is blind but does not want to be treated as if he is blind. Despite his rude personality he keeps the family laughing.
SUPPORTING MALE: Tray Dog (African American, plays the role of a 21 year old)
Personality is The New Generation … He is friendly and happy go lucky.
SUPPORTING FEMALE: Bertha (Any Race, age is open) She is the maid for the Johnson family. Must be full figure. She is friendly and keeps the family laughing. She does not get along with Uncle Pete.
SUPPORTING MALE: Pastor Green: (Any Race, age is open) The typical Pastor… pass the collection bowl.
EXTRA: Judy (Any Race, age is open) Bertha’s workout friend. Must be full figure. Will do dance routine with Bertha and male dancers.
EXTRAS: Male Dancers (Any Race, ages 18-50) Will do dance routine with Bertha and Judy.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.) Must be at least 18 years old
2.) Must be reliable and dependable! This is the most important qualification, since we cannot allow anyone to miss any rehearsals.
3.) Must be okay with attending rehearsals once or twice during the week and on Saturdays.
4.) First read of script will be in February. Date will be announced.
5. Rehearsal dates begin the latter part of March, 2020. Dress Rehearsal at the theatre is Friday May 22, 2020 and the show is Saturday May 23, 2020. Must be able to accommodate this schedule.
5.) We must have your profile, head shot photo and bio/resume in our database.
