Seeking engaging, confident and outgoing youth actors perform in the professional production of A Christmas Story the Musical at Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre in Hudson, FL. Actors will
be expected to sing, dance, and tap dance within the production. High levels of training are a bonus but not a necessity. Actors must be able to take direction and have a willingness to learn and try new things.
Synopsis: This classic holiday tale centers on a mischievous, bespectacled boy, Ralphie, who dreams of getting a BB-gun for Christmas. In the weeks before the big holiday, Ralphie, his friends, and his family get into all kinds of situations: including run-ins with a bully with “yellow eyes,” a tongue stuck to a flag pole, a bar of soap in the mouth, a garish leg lamp, a major award and a Chinese Christmas dinner. Based on the humorist Jean Shepherd’s novel “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash,” this is a tribute to the Original, Traditional, One-Hundred-Percent, Red-Blooded, Two-Fisted, All-American Christmas.

Rehearsal info:
Rehearsals will be most Tuesday evenings and Saturdays (all day) between Labor day and
October 30th. Rehearsals start with the full cast (including adults) on November 1 and will
rehearse everyday until opening on November 20th. Actors WILL be asked to miss some school
days for Tech week: November 15-19.

Please wear gym or athletic clothes that you can dance in. ? Lunch – Auditionees will be given a 1-hour lunch break and may leave to get lunch with their parents or stay on site. Please note that the theatre is 15-20 mins from most fast food and restaurants. What to prepare: ? Please prepare a 16-bar cut (or 30-60 seconds) from a song of your choice.
