Auditions will be held at the Genesian Theatre, 420 Kent St, on Saturday 4th December from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday 5th December from 9am to 2pm. Callbacks will be held the following week.
Actors are invited to request an audition by emailing the director at ladyw@genesiantheatre.com.au with a recent headshot/clear photograph and CV, and the character they wish to audition for. Audition material will be provided upon application.
All auditionees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to show proof of vaccination to theatre. Please review our Covid Safety Guidelines before attending an audition.
Characters
Lady Windermere | F (20 – 25)
A good woman that lets her emotions set a whirlwind chain of events into motion.
Lord Windermere | M (25 – 35)
A man torn between his desire to be honest with his beloved wife and his desire to keep her from any harm or disrepute.
Lord Darlington | M (25 – 35)
An eligible bachelor with eyes for Lady Windermere, despite her assertion that they must remain purely friends.
Mrs. Erlynne | F (40 – 50)
A mysterious and charming woman that has arrived in London’s social scene and become the centre of rumours.
Lord Augustus Lorton | M (40 – 60)
A bachelor much enamoured by Mrs Erlynne, despite the rumours that surround her.
Duchess of Berwick | F (40 – 55)
The eyes, ears and mouth of the London social scene with her daughter Agatha in tow.
Lady Agatha Carlisle / Rosalie, ladies maid | F (18 – 25)
Lady Agatha is a quiet, unassuming young lady who follows her mother’s instructions for better or for worse.
Mr Dumby | M (25 – 40)
A carefree, cheerful friend of the Windermere’s with a few female “friends” around London.
Cecil Graham | M (25 – 40)
A friend of Lord Windermere’s, and a lighthearted troublemaker.
Mr Hopper | M (20 – 35)
A highly sought after Australian bachelor, making his rounds through the social season in London.
Lady Plymdale | F (35 – 55)
A guest at the party, eager to gossip about the mysterious new woman in town.
Parker | M (Open)
The Windermere’s butler.
Lady Stutfield | F (30 +)
Lady Jedburgh | F (30 +)
Mrs Cowper-Cowper | F (30 +)
Guests at the party. These roles would be ideal for new performers wanting to get involved with theatre. Open to having multiple performers to alternate weeks of performance.
