Avery’s best friend. Married to Avery’s cousin, and best friends with Avery’s ex best friend. Drama. The two are very close. Elena is older and wiser than Avery, tries to ground her and get her moving along in her writing career. Elena has her career, marriage and an adventurous daughter. She is a working mom and has it nailed down- or so we think.
This is a dry comedy, so don’t play into the comedy too much, it’s in the writing.
Ana (18 – 25) Barista (Recurring)

Off beat, quirky and slightly awkward. Quick witted, but over steps in Avery & Elena’s conversations. Works at the most pretentious coffee shop in town.

Casey (25 – 35)
All ethnicities
Avery’s cousin. Proud of her no matter what. They are like siblings/best friends. They love each other, Casey gets to live vicariously through Avery’s crazy sex life. In love with his wife, very playful and fun character.

Leo (25 – 35)
All ethnicities.
Avery’s lover at the beginning of the show. He is grammatically and verbally inept. He means well, but just isn’t very smart. Great in bed, and sends a lot of mixed signals.

Jack (28 – 35)
All ethnicities
Avery’s nemesis from University who is doing much better than her in life post college. She begrudgingly meets with him to discuss her book after numerous rejections. In control, highly confident and not afraid of Avery’s wildfire.
Do not play him as a douche, he is simply calm and in control

Kelly (18 – 27) Dive Bar Server
All ethnicities
Cheery server in a dive bar. Definitely does not belong there, and has the worst and best customer’s in Avery and Elena.
We want someone who looks like they should work at Earls not a Dive bar. But *Play to your natural beauty, no glam.
