FOX TV Show “The Resident” Casting Call for Extras in Atlanta in 2022/2023 Season

By | November 11, 2022

The Resident is filming the new season in Atlanta and now casting.

Atlanta area casting directors are looking for area locals to fill various paid, non-speaking, roles in upcoming episodes of The Resident.

The Resident is a medical drama series, airing on the FOX Network and created by Hayley Schore & Roshan Sethi. The show stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Bruce Greenwood, Moran Atias, Merrin Dungey, Melina Kanakaredes and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.  The Resident is executive produced by Amy Holden Jones, Antoine Fuqua, Phillip Noyce and others.  Season 1 premiered at the beginning of 2018 and season 2 of the show is currently in production.

The Resident centers on the staff at the fictional Chastain Park Memorial Hospital and on the day to day lives of those that work there. The Resident also highlights some of the bureaucracy involved in the medical industry.

About the show:

Conrad Hawkins is one of Chastain Park Memorial Hospital’s best doctors. Charming and arrogant, Conrad likes to take an unconventional approach whenever possible and believes it’s his personal duty to shatter the romantic illusions of the first-year residents. Dr. Devon Pravesh is an innocent idealist who leans on his finely tuned moral compass, but with Conrad’s help, he begins to realize that the practice of medicine is a business, like any other, with less-than-angelic patients and fallible doctors.

Even as a resident physician, I love this show. I don’t know that this will even be read, but just a thought. As a DO and not an MD it would really cool at the very least to see some physician white coats or scrubs have some of the physicians listed as DOs. Even more it could be a topic of interest brought up. If you remember that there was an issue about the President’s doctor being a DO and brought up a lot of confusion for people. It would be so amazing to highlight the majority of similarities and a couple of difference between the two. Especially in this time, this can be a hot button issue in medicine (not as much with the doctors, but uninformed patients and other staff, including nursing and other ancillary services).

Would love to find a part in the Resident, as a Doctor or Nurse. Even perhaps as a consultant, with 30 years experience between the Emergency department, and the Operating room. When people ask me what my dream job would be, its always to play a Doctor on T.V..

I would love to play a doctor on the show the resident. I like that show, I watch it sometimes when I’m not doing other things, I’m an okay actor but I grew up dancing to Michael Jackson, Fred Astaire and other people. If I got a job like that, that would make me so happy. I just need somebody to give me a shot.
