WHAT IS OPAL? OPAL is a 9- member, multi-concept girls’ pop group with a gemstone theme!
It is a unique girl group, hoping to pave the way for other groups similar. Taking inspiration from K-Pop and J-Pop, the group will explore many types of songs and concepts. OPAL’s main themes are ambition, self-expression, creativity and unity.
OPAL hopes to build bonds within the group itself as well as with their fanbase. With trips to events such as conventions and festivals as well as unique live performances, OPAL hopes to create a new, engaging and fun experience for its members and fans alike.

OPAL is accepting girls and young women between the ages of 16 and 19 in North Carolina, preferably in the Charlotte area. Those who audition must also be comfortable with performing onstage, getting their pictures/videos taken, and attending (and possibly traveling to) events such as cons and live shows.
Auditionees must provide the following information: their name, age, area in North Carolina in which they live, and any prior experience in singing, dancing, and/or rapping. Also required are two videos, one of the auditionee singing and the other of them dancing, both of them being at a one-minute minimum and three-minute maximum. They will also need to provide a headshot.
There will be a total of six young women chosen to be members of OPAL. Once they are selected, they will choose the color, gemstone and emoji they would like to represent. Since there are three members of OPAL so far, the colors pink, purple and light blue are taken. The current colors up for grabs are as follows: red orange, yellow, green, royal blue and grayscale. The gemstone a member chooses must be the same color as their chosen color. (ex. The member who chooses green must select an emerald or peridot.)
But other than that, those chosen will embark on a fun journey as an idol in a girl group alongside eight new friends!
