The Timothy Hodge Show in New York is hiring for a part-time On-Air Talent. Must have flexible schedule and be consistently available weekends, holidays, nights and overnights. No relocation services offered.
Responsibilities
• Announces radio playlist of musical selections; delivers latest music and pop culture news; gives weather and traffic conditions.
• Comments on music and other matters of interest to audience (e.g. time, weather, traffic conditions).
• May be responsible for operating control board for studios and remote programming.
• Regulates program timing, operates syndicated programming, and plays commercials.
• Monitors the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from master control room.
• Protects station’s license by censoring live programs and deleting words/phrases not permitted on air.
• Checks studio equipment for proper functioning and notifies Engineering of technical malfunctions affecting quality of the broadcast.
• Handles emergency inserts (e.g. news updates and breaking stories, emergency alert system tests, etc.).
Qualifications
• Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
• Pleasant, charismatic with well-rounded communication skills
• Proficient in broadcast systems including NexGen and VoxPro
• Proficient in social media platforms
Work Experience
• Minimum 1-2 years of on-air experience at a Top 40/CHR radio station
Compensation:
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
$36.87 – $50.70
