There is a principal role with online audition for the upcoming Illinois-based feature $POSITIONS. Shooting in the greater Chicago area May 2023. Additionally, there will be in-person audition opportunities in both Dallas and Chicago in January of 2023.
$POSITIONS: Blue-collar Kansan Max Alvarado attempts to save his family from the throes of poverty by investing their savings into speculative cryptocurrencies. However, as his investment strategy decays into a full-blown gambling addiction, he sends his life into a nightmarish anxiety-inducing downward spiral, compromising his relationships with his girlfriend, his mentally-disabled brother, and his recovering junkie cousin.
We are seeking potential applicants for the role of TRAVIS, a late 30’s, early 40’s recovering heroin addict gym rat that recently found Jesus. After a lifetime of bad decisions, Travis is finally on the path to righteousness. Despite his pledge to stay clean, he still requires copious amounts of drugs and alcohol to stop him from relapsing on heroin. The ideal Travis reads as genuinely dangerous to the audience; scary, muscly, and short-tempered, though sometimes his rage subsides long enough for us to see that in reality, he is just a scared puppy looking for a better life.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR: Kansas native Brandon Daley is a writer, director, editor, and actor currently based out of Chicago, IL. Brandon’s fever dream absurdist comedies and innovative works have landed on the front page of Reddit, YouTube, Vimeo, and Buzzfeed. He wrote and directed the short film, SAVASANA, which won No Budge’s Best Comedy and featured on Vimeo as one of the best NSFW films of all time. Brandon also wrote and directed, Technology Lake: Meditations on Death and Sex, which won the Jury Prize at the Florida Film Festival and was licensed for distributed by the production company, Gunpowder and Sky. His films have also played at prestigious festivals including Fantastic Fest, Slamdance, Fantasia, Rooftop Films, and more. He has been named one of 2020’s top filmmakers in Chicago. Brandon also recently made his feature film debut as an actor, alongside Gillian Jacobs and Jemaine Clement in the Kris Rey film, I Used To Go Here (HBO), and stars as the titular character in Northwestern Prof. Spencer Parsons’ upcoming horror feature Mr. Dust.
