The Theater at the Mount in MA holding open auditions for actors.
The theater will be producing “Man of La Mancha” in early 2023 and are holding an open audition call to fill various roles in the stage play.
“Man of La Mancha” is a musical that was first produced on stage in the mid 1960’s. The play is based on a book by Dale Wasserman, which is based on another work about Don Quixote. The other project was not set as a stage musical and was called I, Don Quixote and was inspired by Miguel de Cervantes and his 17th-century novel Don Quixote.
Theatre at the Mount announces auditions for its February/March production of “Man of La Mancha.”
Director Terrie Hyde and Music Director Dave Twiss are looking for a cast of eight principal adults and large ensemble.
Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ 17th-century masterpiece, “Don Quixote,” “Man of La Mancha” is one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history. Powerful, brutal, hilarious, and heartbreaking, “Man of La Mancha” celebrates the perseverance of a dying old man who refuses to relinquish his ideals or his passion. The celebrated score includes “Little Bird,” “I, Don Quixote,” “To Each His Dulcinea,” and “The Impossible Dream.”
Auditions are Monday, Dec. 5 and Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. sharp in Room 182 at Mount Wachusett Community College. Proof of vaccination is required to audition. All auditions are by appointment only.

Please prepare a short vocal selection that best shows your abilities and range (bring sheet music if selection is not from the show). Also expect cold-readings from the script for key roles.
Performances of “Man of La Mancha” are Feb. 24, Feb. 25, March 3 and March 4 at 7:30 p.m. and March 5 at 2 p.m.
Rehearsal Schedule: Sundays from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9:30 p.m. Read-through before Christmas, rehearsals begin after Jan. 1.
