Casting call for Extras on BET new show “Average Joe”

Average Joe is a new TV show coming to BET. The series is currently filming season 1 in the Atlanta, Georgia area. While the show is filming in Atlanta, it is actually set in Pittsburgh.

Deon Cole from Black-ish is set to star in BET+’s new show. The series is described as a dark comedy and comes from Robb Cullen and McG (The O.C., Supernatural, Chuck). Eric Dean Seaton (Superman & Lois, Batman and Black-ish) has directed the first episode of Average Joe for BET+.

Average Joe is set in a Pittsburgh neighborhood, The Hill district and is said to be inspired by Robb Cullen’s life. The show focuses on a plumber named Joe Washington, played by Deon Cole.  Joe, after his father’s passing finds out that his father was living a secret life and had stolen millions from some very dangerous people right before his death. Of course, those dangerous people want their money back and are under the impression that Joe knows where their money is. Average Joe’s boring life suddenly becomes filled with danger and intrigue as he tries to solve the mystery of what his father was doing and where the money is, before he gets himself and his family killed.

Follows Joe Washington, who discovers his recently deceased father had stolen millions of dollars from dangerous people, and now those people think Joe knows where it is, so he must find the truth and the millions. – IMDB
