Friends of the Metro Parks in Lorain County have an upcoming Murder Mystery dinner show is set to return this spring.

The production for this year, titled “Murder … Country Style,” written by Eileen Moushey, delves into the story of a family of country singers facing a tragedy.. a murder.

Friends of the Metro Parks in Lorain County is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the Metro Parks system in Lorain County, Ohio. Comprising dedicated individuals who share a passion for nature, conservation, and community engagement, this group collaborates with the Metro Parks to organize various events and activities.

One of their notable annual events is the Murder Mystery dinner and show, which adds a unique and entertaining element to the community. This event, such as “Murder … Country Style,” written by Eileen Moushey, showcases the group’s commitment to fostering community connections through creative and engaging experiences.

Barb Fieger, president of the Friends of the Metro Parks of Lorain County and director of the Murder Mystery production, shared that the plot revolves around the family preparing for a show, with unexpected events unfolding.  She also expressed that no acting experience is necessary and rehearsals will take place all the way to their first show date.

“It’s about a family of country singers getting ready to perform a show and, you know, stuff happens,” Fieger said. “We pick a different script every year.”

 

Murder … Country Style,” is a suspenseful story spun around a family of country singers and is set against the backdrop of preparing for a show, the plot takes unexpected turns when tragedy strikes. Eileen Moushey, a talented freelance writer and director, weaves together a captivating Murder Mystery that explores the dynamics of the family and the unforeseen events that unfold in the country-style setting. The storyline unfolds mysteries and suspense, offering audiences an engaging and entertaining experience.

Notably, acting experience is not a prerequisite for auditioning. During the auditions, actors will engage in a cold reading from the script. However, for this particular show, all actors must be 18 years or older.

Auditions scheduled for 7 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the Carlisle Visitor’s Center, 12882 Diagonal Road in Lagrange.
