Jacobethan Theater Workshop – Shakespeare in the Park(ing Lot)

We are currently looking for a company for an outdoor production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at the Arlene Francis Theater in Santa Rosa, CA.
[Non-Union / Bay Area Project Policy (BAPP) code pending] – Unpaid
Rehearsal begin July 30th. Part-time, Evenings and Sundays all day. Performance: September 14,15,16th and 21,22,23rd 2023.
Experience with verse-speaking and Shakespeare is a plus but not necessary to be considered. Please note that this is an outdoor performance with no amplification. Parts and postings are subject to change and all submissions will be considered for all parts.

Viola
Sister to Sebastian who disguises herself as man passing as ‘Cesario’. She becomes the messenger for Orsino with whom she falls in love. Strong ability in verse-speaking/Shakespeare a plus.
Orsino / Officer
The ruler of Illyria and in love with Olivia. Recruits Viola’s ‘Cesario’ to his court to bring messages to Olivia and later falls in love with Viola. Doubles with the Officer. Strong ability in verse-speaking/Shakespeare a plus.
Olivia
The subject of Orsino’s affection who comes to fall is love with ‘Cesario’. Strong ability in verse-speaking/Shakespeare a plus.
Malvolio
The sour servant to Olivia who becomes the victim of a lot of mischief. Strong comedic ability is a plus.
Sir Toby
The drunk and mischievious uncle of Olivia. Strong comedic ability is a plus.
Maria
Olivia’s servant and love interest of Sir Toby, who conspires to chastise Malvolio.
Sir Andrew
The dim-witted side kick of Sir Toby. Comedic ability is a plus.
Feste
The clever fool. We are looking for a versatile performer with the ability to play an instrument on stage as the principal music throughout the performance
Sebastian / Curio
Brother to Viola and is mistaken as her male appearance ‘Cesario’. Doubled with Orsino’s servant Curio.
Antonio / Captain / Priest
Antonio is Sebastian’s friend and savior. Doubled with Orsino’s servant Valentine. Doubles with the Captain and the Priest.
