Casting Call – Full Sail Fi7 presents “The Why”
A NON-UNION, NON-PAID CASTING CALL
Haunted by his accidental contribution to his friend’s fatal overdose, a recovering addict struggles to come to terms with the guilt and grief he feels in his therapy session as he learns to accept responsibility.
Casting for:
YOUNGER DANIEL: Male, 20s, has struggled with addiction and depression for 7 years. He is mildly careless and hardheaded, yet insecure and vulnerable.
YOUNGER THERESA: Female, 30s, is a kind Dialectical Behavioral Therapist who seeks to help those struggling with addiction and mental health conditions like she once did.
DANIEL: Male, 40s, 20 years later has recovered and is a Therapist for Theresa. He has positively changed his life for the better by doing what he loves most, helping others.
THERESA: Female, 50s, 20 years later has moved up into the managerial position and is now Daniel’s boss. She loves being able to work alongside Daniel to help clients recover.
BECCA: Female, 20s, is depressed and miserable. She struggles with mental health illness and addiction, just like Daniel. The two are best friends, as they understand one another.
JUDGE: Any gender, 40s to 70s, serious about bringing justice to society by making sure all is fair and played by the rules.
CLIENT: Any gender, any age, Daniel’s client that is positively making progress in their recovery path.
COURTROOM EXTRAS: Any gender, any age, roles such as: Jurors, Attorneys, Clerks, Court Reporter, and a Bailiff.
