Seeking Hispanic Indigenous and Mexican Actors for Student Thesis Film “CECILIA”

LOCATION: Orange County and Los Angeles, CA (Must work Local Hire)
SHOOT DATES: January 12, 13, 14 and 16, 17, 18, 2024
UNION STATUS: Non-Union

SEEKING: Hispanic Indigenous and Mexican actors. All lines are in Spanish, so all actors must be 100% fluent in Spanish with a Mexican Accent.

All this role’s lines are in Spanish. MUST SPEAK 100% FLUENT SPANISH WITH MEXICAN ACCENT.

[CECILIA] Female, 24-28 years old
Native Californian or Indigenous Mexican descent. Character is a Native Californian (Tongva) woman, was born in the San Gabriel Mission during secularization. **All this role’s lines are in Spanish. MUST SPEAK 100% FLUENT SPANISH WITH MEXICAN ACCENT.** STUNT/STAGE COMBAT INVOLVED. LEAD.

[SEÑORA ANGUSTIAS] Female, 40s-50s.
Originally from Sonora, Mexico, she moved to Alta California and married Señor Juan Manuel at 15 years old.

[SEÑOR JUAN MANUEL] Male, 50s.
A once prominent Californio, experienced the rise and fall of his ranching business with the arrival of Anglo settlers. *

[FERNANDA] Female, 10-12 years old
Native Californian or Indigenous Mexican descent. Fernanda, a Tongva girl, has never been a day without her mother, Cecilia. From a young age, she began helping Cecilia at work with various chores.

[MERCEDES] Female, 30’s
Native Californian or Indigenous Mexican descent. She is the longest-serving worker at Rancho de Cascabel, has been with the rancheros for 15 years. She and her Tongva family were born in the San Gabriel Mission, like Cecilia.

All this role’s lines are in Spanish. MUST SPEAK 100% FLUENT SPANISH WITH MEXICAN ACCENT.
