French artist and filmmaker, Julie Bena, is seeking an actor for her upcoming short film, Dirty Shirley, produced by the nonprofit, nomadic art museum Black Cube.
This experimental short film will feature a cast of unconventional characters as they navigate the seedy underbelly of American city life and American fame. Filming will begin in November 2023, and will take place over 2-3 days in the Denver Metro area.
Teddy the Bear, a lead character, is a role for an actor whose height is under 5′ 2″. This character will take on a primary speaking role, and will accompany the main character of the film. Teddy the Bear is the main supporting actor.
Prior experience in acting or stand up comedy is preferred, but not required. Intriguing voice a must. Please be aware that this character will wear a full-coverage costume that may partly obscure vision for at least half of the filming time.
This is a paid role. Our submission deadline is July 31, 2023, with auditions to be held mid-August.
