Open call in Calgary, Alberta for movie “Wind River” sequel.
Movie “Wind River” is filming in the Calgary area and there is an open casting call coming up for Canada locals that would love to land a small role in a major motion picture.
The original “Wind River” was released in 2017 and followed a wildlife officer named Cory Lambert, who went on a mission to solve a murder mystery after finding the body of an 18-year-old woman on an American Indian reservation. The original was set in the rural areas of Wyoming during the winter. To help with the investigation, an FBI agent named Jane Banner was introduced to help solve the murder and needed Cory Lambert as a guide through the rough terrain.
“Wind River” stars Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Gil Birmingham, Jon Bernthal, Julia Jones, Kelsey Asbille, James Jordan, and Martin Sensmeier.

“Wind River” is being produced by Castle Rock Entertainment and will be directed by Kari Skogland of The Handmaid’s Tale. Wind River: The Next Chapter, will follow a newly minted tracker who is hired to help the FBI solve a series of ritualistic murders and is set to begin filming cross-province in April of 2023.
There will be an in person casting call this weekend and the movie and the movie’s casting directors are looking for background actors, who are indigenous who are between the ages of 18 and 80. No experience is needed and roles are paid. The movie is filming in the Calgary, Alberta, Canada area this spring and are specifically looking for people who have open availability to be on set between March 10th and May 3rd.
