THE SHOW WHERE EVERY WORD COUNTS
Have you always wanted to get on a game show? The word game 25 Words or Less is looking for contestants. Two teams of celebrities and contestants face off in this fast paced word game. The top prize for the winner is $10,000.
The show has been renewed for a new season in 2023 / 2024 and is currently seeking folks who would like to tryout to be a contestant on 25 Words or Less. Game show casting directors are seeking people who live in the Los Angeles area and the show also has an online audition form where folks from other areas may tryout for the show.
25 Words or Less is a TV game show based which was created from the board game also called, 25 Words or Less. The game show is hosted by Meredith Vieira. 25 Words or Less is produced by Dino Bones Productions, as well as Is or Isn’t Entertainment and Regular Brand. The game show is distributed by Fox First Run.
It first aired in summer 2018 and became a regular series the following year which airs on various FOX TV channels. The show is also available to stream on Peacock as well as the Tubi streaming network.
About the show:
The host invites contestants and celebrities to team up and take on the challenge of playing a guessing game using only 25 words. Two three-member teams, consisting of a contestants and celebrities, the amount of celebrities and contestants has changed over the past season. The first 2 seasons featured 2 celebrities and a contestant and that was changed in season 3 of game show which went to 2 contestants and a single celebrity.
Game play goes as follows: In the first round, team members are called up to the host’s podium, one on one. At the podium, they are shown a list of five words to convey to their teammates in 45 seconds. In the second season, instead of coming up, the list is shown on the tablet of the two players.
Starting with a varying number of clue words set by the host as the opening bid, the face-off contestants bid against each other as to how few clue words they can use to complete the round. The bidding continues until one of the contestants concedes to the other contestant’s bid. The contestant who wins the bid then plays the game using the number of words they bid. The contestant can pass on a word if it is too difficult, returning to any passed words if time remains on the clock.
